Student grants in Canada

Grants generally do not need to be repaid. They are assessed with the same application used for student loans, through your province or territory.

How grants are assessed

Assessment usually considers household income, family size, study load, program length and whether the institution and program are designated. Additional grant amounts may exist for students with dependants, students with disabilities and part-time students.

Where to apply

Apply through your provincial or territorial student aid office. One application is typically assessed for both federal and provincial aid.

Deadlines

Apply as early as possible before your study period. Late applications can delay funding past the start of classes.

This guide is general information only. You may qualify for some, all or none of the programs described. Eligibility varies, official government requirements apply, funding is not guaranteed and IMMPILOT is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government.
